Just a quick note as a follow up from my last few weeks.

Video on the internet is still a pain to move around but still easier than sitting on planes, trains and automobiles over the last few weeks........................

I was on a panel about Videoblogging at the Digital Hollywood conference.
It was very interesting to see Traditional Media companies recognizing the
importance of creating a closer relationship with their end users. There was
a lot of discussion about the next big thing being collaborative creations of
videos, sort of like they have been doing in film and TV for years. The session
was packed with a lot of interested Hollywood folk.

Later in the week we were responsible to help capture the ACM conference that
is focused on public access television. A great group of folks who have been
helping train and provide access to people who want to create and broadcast their
media. A lot of discussion about funding impacts from the cable companies
efforts to change the allocation of funds for these stations. There was a lot of
discussion about how to take their programming and bridge the digital divide.
We’ll be posting about this on www.http://acmwest2006.spincast.net/

Two weeks ago I was on a panel at the CMJ conference in New York talking about
the changes that the internet is having on Radio. There was a great panel from the
programming side, satellite radio to the content side to internet radio, see
www.http://prod1.cmj.com/marathon/
There was a discussion as to how internet radio and podcasts will be monetized and
how people want to hear more about the artists story and have the ability to participate
with their favorites music. A little bit of video thrown in.
Most of the traditional media folks believe first and foremostgreat programming wins (I agree) and that we are early in how this will translate to a better user experience.

I hope to do a post about the Vloggies. Video on the internet is still a pain to move around but still easier than sitting on planes, trains and automobiles over the last few weeks.
